Dane County Human Services is responding to community need for more culturally appropriate behavioral health support. Up to $200,000 in one time funding was made available, and has been awarded through the Outpatient Infrastructure Grants which will expand outpatient capacity and serve target communities and underserved populations. Target populations may include BiPOC, Latinx, Hmong, LGBTQIA+, culturally specific or gender specific services. In addition, the applications also focused on particular offerings related to low income or other marginalized groups, as were specialty services related to trauma, OCD, hoarding, and others.
Seven health agencies--with an annual operating budget under $250,000---were selected through a competitive process. Grant applications included costs that support expansion or adaptation of current operating expenses to meet emerging client needs, such as assistance in obtaining licensure or certification, costs associated with startup, training, or infrastructure.
Grant Recipients of the Outpatient Infrastructure Grants, 2022:
While these agencies may be small, they are mighty. They are located throughout Dane County and offer a variety of treatment modalities. Additionally, all employ clinicians who specialize in serving least one of the target populations identified in the grant. These grants are an investment into our community, and will assist these agencies in serving Dane County residents for years to come.
