Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse (AODA)


The Dane County Department of Human Services offers a comprehensive array of alcohol and other drug abuse (AODA) services with the mission of contributing to an environment where children, families, and adults can participate successfully in the community. The Department contracts with community agencies and organizations to provide a comprehensive range of programs and services.

An array of services is provided by Public Health of Madison and Dane County including: education and linkage to tobacco cessation resources, Tobacco-Free Air Law information for businesses outside the City of Madison, mini-grants for tobacco cessation and prevention, Peer Education Groups, policy and advocacy work for communities looking to make work-sites tobacco-free, services to landlords and business owners to promote their businesses as tobacco-free, and Wisconsin Wins - providing point-of-purchase checks on sales of tobacco products to minors.
